A devoted family man, Mark Lang, 54, lost his life tragically when struck by his stolen van, driven by Christopher Elgifari, 31, who has now been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 32 years.
Lang, a delivery driver, was delivering a parcel in Cardiff on March 28 when Elgifari seized the unlocked van, dragging Lang for over 700 meters before being apprehended.

Elgifari, admitting manslaughter and theft but convicted of murder and robbery, was described by the judge as having shown a “complete disregard for [Lang’s] life.” Lang’s partner expressed profound loss, highlighting his role as a family man and the impact on future moments. Elgifari, with a troubled background and a history of convictions, claimed remorse for the incident during the trial.
