The M180 has been closed in an eastbound direction due to a “multi-vehicle accident”
The closure is affecting the road from J1 A18 Tudworth Road (Bawtry) to J2 A161 (Gainsborough/Belton), according to traffic data company Inrix.
Lane 3 is also closed on the westbound carriageway and emergency services are in attendance, according to National Highways.
Reports from the scene indicate there is damage to the central reservation barrier, a diesel spillage, and a significant debris field that will need to be cleared as a result of this collision.
Diversions have been put in place and are detailed as follows:
Driving East, exit the M180 Motorway using Junction 1 offslip road and proceed to the end of the slip road.
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A18 and proceed along this road for approximately 7 miles to the roundabout with the A161.
At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the A161 and proceed along this road for approximately 1 mile to the junction with the M180 Motorway (Junction 2).
At the junction, turn left onto the slip road to rejoin M180 East.

National Highways issue statement
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Drivers in South Yorkshire are advised that resurfacing of the M180 continues following an earlier collision. All vehicles involved in the collision, which happened between junctions 1 and 2 of the M180 eastbound at 11.30pm on Monday 20 February, have been recovered.
“Debris and products from the HGVs involved have also been removed from the carriageway and resurfacing continues.
The northbound exit slip road at junction 5 of the M18 had been closed to help alleviate congestion on the roundabout, but this closure will be removed from 6pm.”
