UPDATE – FATALITY ON M6: PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY HEAVY GOODS VEHICLE
Yesterday evening at approximately 17:40, a tragic incident unfolded on the southbound lanes of the M6 at Corley services in Warwickshire. Regrettably, a male pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a heavy goods vehicle.
Swiftly responding to the scene, emergency crews found the pedestrian fatally injured. Despite their efforts, it was evident that nothing could be done to save the man, and he was pronounced deceased at the location.
The driver of the goods vehicle cooperated with authorities and is actively assisting in the ongoing police investigation. The southbound stretch of the M6, spanning from J4a to J3 at Coventry, remained closed for over five hours, impacting traffic flow. Additionally, Highfield Lane Bridge was temporarily inaccessible during the incident.
