A sunken trailer has caused traffic chaos in Birmingham city centre.

Police shut city centre roads after a parked trailer sank into a ‘sink hole’ yesturday (June 8). The vehicle was seen on its side behind Clayton hotel in Birmingham city centre, near Moor Street railway station.

Park Street was fully closed earlier though one lane has now reopened in the street. A number of bus and traffic diversions were in place.

West Midlands Roads tweeted earlier today: “Park Street, Birmingham city centre, is closed due to a significant carriageway defect, between Jennens Road and Masshouse Lane. Allow additional time and use other routes to avoid.” Traffic monitoring service Inrix said Park Street had been closed ‘due to a sink hole between Jennens Road and Masshouse Lane.
