On December 28, 2021, Beijing time, at the Chinese Truck of the Year (CTOY 2022) Results Release & Awards Ceremony held online in Beijing, the Chinese Truck of the Year Jury presented this authoritative award to Li Jian, Foton Motor Group VP, news spokesman.
There are two models participating in this road test: Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy and JAC Gallop V7.
Based on the appraisal rules, the Chinese Truck of the Year (CTOY) Award is intended to be awarded to Chinese brand trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 3.5 tons released and launched on the market in the past 12 months. The key indicators of appraisal include economy, safety, comfort, environmental protection, TCO (total cost of ownership), etc.
With its unique futuristic appearance, color matching design that goes beyond conventional concept and complete and detailed interior function configuration, Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy has realized the perfect balance between design aesthetics and practicability.
In the Chinese Truck of the Year appraisal organized in October 2021, members of the Chinese Truck of the Year Jury expressed their appreciation for the appearance and cab of Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy. The grille of Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy is designed by the “golden section” aesthetic design method and the innovative design method of “Galaxy” around the company’s LOGO for the first time in the world, together with the rigid and flexible streamlined body, galaxy matrix LED digital headlamps and electric adjustable air deflectors that can reduce wind resistance, thereby realizing the organic unity of aesthetics and science.
The interior layout of Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy reflects the humanized and young design style, and adopts a smooth and flexible workbench and a curved surface like through 12.3+10 inch dual LCD screen. The cab is structured with 4-stage pedal, 4-point suspension, flat floor and large space design, which are all popular trends. In addition, the accessible control device, wireless charger, ultra-wide comfortable sleeper and reasonable storage space, coupled with partitioned independent automatic air-conditioner, Grammer 115 generation air suspension seat and chassis front few-leaf spring + ZF rear air suspension design, reaching the top level in China in terms of drivingc omfort, handling and ride comfort.
Members of the Chinese Truck of the Year Jury also praised the “Super HDT Equipped with A Super-Powertrain” composed of Cummins A13 national VI-580 PS diesel engine, ZF 12-gear AMT automatic transmission and integrated retarder. Coupled with China’s first A·OS heavy truck intelligent operating system, it has realized strong power and high shift efficiency, resulting in low fuel consumption and emission.
