Last week, a DVSA Enforcement Team at Stafford checkpoint (Doxey) were alerted to this abnormal load.
Abnormal because:
– it was the wrong special type (STGO) category for the weight – it should have been category 3
– the movement order became incorrect due to the wrong category
– it was 100% overweight at 88 tonnes
– it was insecure as packing and straps not securely stored in an appropriate location
– it had 3 tyres that were damaged or below the legal tread limit
The operator now has to get another movement order which will take around 5 days – after replacing the damaged tyres.
