The woman died in hospital after the multi-vehicle collision between junctions 16 and 17.
A trucker as been arrested after a 19-year-old woman died following a crash on the M6 in Cheshire. Emergency services were called to the crash on the northbound carriageway between junctions 16 for Crewe and 17 for Sandbach at around 5.15pm on Friday (December 2nd)
The incident involved a heavy goods vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo, a Peugeot 107 and a BMW. The 19-year-old woman, from Dudley, was a passenger in the Polo and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
But police have confirmed that she has since died. The driver and another passenger in the Polo, two men in their 20s, remain in hospital with serious injuries.
The M6 remained shut throughout Friday night and into Saturday morning. National Highways confirmed at just after 11am that all lanes had been reopened.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed or who has video footage from around the time of the collision. They are urged to contact Cheshire Police via this link quoting IML 1426483 or call 101.

Condolences to the person family thats has died,
I hope this was not caused by incorrect training of the LGV driver ie Gas to go Brakes to stop, The same reason for the Bath incident that was blamed on the operator and fitter, But of course the Goverment can do no wrong can they? Who ever trains someone to stop a vehicles a loaded vehicle with brakes only are the ones that should be put inside and Never let out. The LGV test is a F—–g Joke The deaths in the Bath case was NOT caused the Operator or his Fitter but by incorrect training FACT Just hope that not in this case ?
