A LORRY driver was pulled over on 18th December 2021 after being spotted towing a large boat which was spilling over the sides of its trailer.

The lorry was stopped near Dewsbury yesterday, and officers from the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit said the paperwork being carried by the lorry “vastly understated” the size of its load.

The ‘Multraship Responder’ on the back of the lorry was spilling over the sides of the trailer by some distance, and on the back carried a sign in French which said ‘exceptionnel’, meaning exceptional.

However, the paperwork understated the actual size of the boat.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

West Yorkshire Police RPU said: “Abnormal load check found this vehicles paper work to have vastly understated the width of the load, and the required marker boards were over a metre narrower than the load they were supposed to be marking.

“A new set of paperwork will be required before this ship can set sail.”
