A Hermes delivery lorry, now under the name Evri, has become the latest victim on Vale Street, recognized as the steepest street in the UK.

The vehicle is currently lodged (9th Jan) on the road surface, creating a blockade that requires a potentially complex recovery operation.

Positioned at the junction of Park Street and Vale Street in Bristol, the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 9.

The steep gradient of Vale Street, measuring at 22 degrees, has left the lorry unable to move forward without risking further damage or retreat due to the extreme slope, resulting in its current entrapment.

This street is notorious for its steepness, requiring some vehicles to be secured to lampposts during icy winter months to prevent sliding down the hill.
