A 62-year-old HGV driver, David Boca, from Torworth Road, Borehamwood, admitted to careless driving at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on December 13th.

Boca received nine penalty points and a £733 fine for carelessly colliding with a stationary police car on the A13. The incident, which occurred on June 11th, involved Roads Policing officers responding to a broken-down BMW.

Despite safety measures, Boca’s recklessness led to a collision, endangering lives and causing significant disruption. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, emphasizing the importance of responsible driving, especially around emergency vehicles.

The incident underscores the risks faced by Roads Policing officers, emphasizing the need for accountability and respect for those ensuring road safety. Essex Police’s Head of Roads Policing, Mr Adam Pipe, emphasized the avoidability of the collision and the critical role of police vehicles in maintaining road safety.
