“This could have killed someone.”
Heavy units fell off a lorry at Sandygate roundabout, just onto the A376 Exmouth Road today. The incident was caused by the units being improperly secured.
Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team (DCRPT) said in a Tweet “These units weighed almost a tonne and came off as the load was not compliant with load security requirements.” They went on to express the potential dangers of loads not being secured correctly, adding “This could have killed someone.”
Photos show police on the scene after the units fell. DCRPT have said that the driver and the company have both been reported.
