NEWS: LORRY DRIVER RESCUED AFTER BRIDGE STRIKE FIRE
A lorry driver has even rescued by passing motorists, after his vehicle struck a bridge, and burst into flames on the M6 this morning.
The incident happened shortly before 6am, on the northbound carriageway between J27 and J28.
The vehicle struck an overbridge, before nearly overturning. The truck then burst into flames.
The driver was helped from the vehicle by fellow motorists, he is being assessed in hospital but is understood to not be seriously hurt.
As of 10am today, the M6 remains closed northbound, for ongoing recovery and repair work.
