The parent company of Eurotunnel has acquired ChannelPorts Ltd, the operator of a prominent service station along the M20 motorway, as part of an effort to streamline cross-Channel trade.

ChannelPorts, established in 1974, specializes in British customs services and operates Stop24, situated near the entrance to the Channel Tunnel. With 44 employees and approximately £10 million in revenues, ChannelPorts handles customs formalities mandated post-Brexit for hauliers and logistics clients. This acquisition aligns ChannelPorts with Getlink’s Sherpass digital platform, enhancing border-crossing efficiency for customers.

Yann Leriche, CEO of Getlink, emphasized the aim to simplify the complexities faced by cross-Channel hauliers amid post-Brexit administrative procedures.

Additionally, the acquisition of Stop24 expands Eurotunnel’s offerings for truck drivers, complementing the services available at Le Truck Village on the French side.
